Krackel, the Red-Headed Step-Child of Candy Bars

Krackel Bars Krackel, the Red Headed Step Child of Candy Bars I just ate a small Krackel Candy bar. It was part of a mix of mini candy bars from Hershey’s. It was delicious. Krackels kind of taste like Nestle Crunch. But you never hear of someone going down to the 7-Eleven to buy a Krackel. Snickers, sure. Kit Kat, fine. Reese’s, right on. Hershey’s bar, yep. Milky Way, okay. 3 Musketeers, sure. Nestle Crunch, indeed.

But Krackle? I’ve only eaten them in those from those mix bags. Never bought a standalone Krackle bar or a bag of Krackle bars.

I declare Krackle the Red-Headed Step-Child of Candy Bars.

3 Ykoh { 02.15.10 at 10:17 pm }: I remember always telling myself after eating few of these from the mix bag, “I’m going to buy me a large Krackle bar tomorrow.., mmm these are soooo good.” But I always forgot about Krackle the next day. So it never happened.
4 william { 03.13.10 at 7:38 pm }: I can’t find large bars of Hershey’s Krackel ANYWHERE. I have to go to WinCo foods for the bulk mix. Then, I just take ONLY the Krackel. Red headed STEP child?? It’s the BEST DAMNED CANDY BAR on the MARKET!!! I friggin’ LOVE Hershey’s Krackel! I’d get Nestle’s Crunch but its so damned expensive.
5 DK from SD { 04.08.10 at 8:14 am }: I’m getting conflicting info about full-size Krackel bars. Some web sites say they were discontinued a while back. I went to the Hershey’s store in Times Square, thinking that if they still existed, that’s where I’d find them. Nope. They only had the miniatures. So I asked a clerk about it. He told me that the only place you can get full-size bars of Krackel is at Hershey Park in Hershey, PA. Naturally, I asked why this was the case, and his response was that Krackel is not a big seller. Well, DUH! It’s not a big seller because the only place you can get it is Hershey Freakin’ Pennsylvania!
