First Original Nephew Tune: “Devil Dolphin”

Nephew Jim and I wrote and recorded the beginning of a new original song this weekend called “Devil Dolphin”. Jim wrote most of the music and played all of the guitar.

Last night I made a whacky video for it:

This morning in the shower, I came up with some potential silly lyrics for it … what do you think, Jim?

Jim and I are working on a band name, then he’ll design the logo, then we’ll be ready to rock the world, then we’ll be able to buy lots of bling. Then we’ll be invited to sing in some charity supergroup song like “We are the World”. Then we’ll be able to save the world like Bono. But first we need a band name.

2 Rob Lambert { 11.27.07 at 6:45 pm }: I was thinking that each of us should sing every other chunk (otherwise, it goes real fast and it’s easy to run out of breath!). Next time we do an iChat I can show you how I sing it. Basically each chunk goes with one chord progression and I approximately follow the chords with the way that I sing it. Each chunk like “This is the story, The story of a man, The story of a man called Devil Dolphin” is squeezed into one A ……… -> D -> G progression.

Maybe your dad can help you record the vocals on the Mac and I’ll help you transfer your vocals to me so that I can put it all together!
