Feedback
I’ve been realizing lately how much people need feedback in the things they do. At work, I always hear about things that our customers don’t like, problems they’re having, etc. But I rarely hear from the happy customers (I assume that there are some
). About once every six to twelve months we get a nice client “thank you” letter or “‘atta-boy email” and those go a long way to make up for the daily or weekly complaints that we hear. But of course the disgruntled clients are always the loudest. The happy folks don’t usually speak up.
So next time you like something (someone’s cooking, a story someone wrote, someone’s lovely flower garden, an elegant piece of software, etc.), let the person responsible know. You just might provide the spark for them to produce tons more.
Now, rock on.

I agree. I try to do this on occasion, but don’t do it nearly enough.
V, your frequent comments here shows that you are among the rare folks who are good at leaving feedback! ‘Atta-girl!
Good point. Hmm… Let me see. Umm. Cool post!
