Google Web Toolkit – Build AJAX apps in the Java language
Uncategorized
Holy Schmoly. Look at this. The Google Web Toolkit has been released for building web apps like GMail and Google Maps in Java. It comes with an application creator for Eclipse. I haven't looked at this much, but some questions come to mind:
- Is this the real thing that powers things like GMail?
- Did the release of this have something to do with Google / Sun working together (if so, why not NetBeans
) - Is this usable in commerical application development?
- Is this a paradigm shifting toolkit to render all of the 3,123,432,583 Java web application frameworks irrelevant?
- It is available for Windows and Linux, is a Mac versions coming?
Time to download and play and find out the answers to these and other questions…
